Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Yorktown Public Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that works to promote public knowledge and use of the Yorktown Public Library’s resources, services, and programs. Our purpose is to maintain an association of persons interested in the library and to focus public attention on library services, facilities, and needs.

The organization supports the library in ways not possible from city budget allocations alone. The city of Yorktown provides salaries, utilities and operating expenses for the library, while the Friends provide additional support as needed in a variety of ways.

Monthly meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month (September-May) in the Library Meeting Room at 1pm. We invite the public to join us as we discuss upcoming Library events and volunteer opportunities.

The Friends of the Yorktown Library is a 501(C)(3) organization and all donations are tax deductible. For more information about Friends of the Library, or to make a tax-deductible donation, please call the Library at 361-564-3232.
